Who We Are

The NC 4-H Development Fund, is a non-profit, charitable and educational corporation as defined in Internal Revenue Service code 501(c) 3. It operates under the auspices of the NC Agricultural Foundation, Inc., at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC 27695.

Often the highlight of North Carolina 4-H Congress . . . the Candlelighting Ceremony at Dorton Arena is the culminating event of this week-long 4-H experience, a solemn look back at the year’s work, and quiet contemplation for the year ahead.
Youth Program Support

Awards Contingency

This fund is designed to ensures that 4-Hers in competitive programs including project records, cumulative records, and presentations  will receive their financial award for their hard work in district and state competition

Curriculum

Support for this program is used to purchase curriculum and sell at discounted prices to county 4-H programs and under write the cost for a web-based Soils School Enrichment curriculum.

Educational Scholarships

The North Carolina 4-H Development Fund provides $1,000 educational scholarships to two young people in each of the seven Extension Districts.  The young people are selected on the following criteria: 4-H Record, SAT and GPA scores, potential for collegiate academic success and need.

County Innovative Projects

These funds are used to support innovative programming ideas that are implemented within counties throughout the state.  This year the priority will be on projects partnering with the 4-H Camps & Centers

National 4-H Congress

This event showcases the lanet and achievement of the nation’s most outstanding 4-Hers.  North Carolina’s 25-30 delegates are selected based upon the Application, Resume, and Interview (ARI) process.

Awards Judging

The funding to this program supports the over 82 judges who take project and cumulative record county champions to determine district and state champions.  They also judge the resume and applications for the ARI process.

Projects and Cumulative Record Awards

These funds are used to provide scholarships for district and state project & cumulative record winners that are in categories not funded by donors so that the youth are properly recognized for their work and achievement.
