Vehicles for Giving

Volunteers operate 4-H programs under the guidance of Extension professionals. In North Carolina, more than 40,000 men and women of all ages and cultures share their time and talents with 4-H youth as leaders, experts, judges, and in other capacities. 4-H specialists include the development of volunteers as individuals and leaders in the 4-H program as part of their overall youth development goals. As sa volunteer, you will:

  • Structure group learning experiences for youths using the social and behavioral sciences.
  • Render services in support of 4-H'ers, other volunteers, and the 4-H program in general.
  • Learn from Extension professionals how to better use subject matter, educational methods, and the democratic process to achieve human development objectives.
