The NC 4-H Development Fund, is a non-profit, charitable and educational corporation as defined in Internal Revenue Service code 501(c) 3. It operates under the auspices of the NC Agricultural Foundation, Inc., at North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC 27695.

Often the highlight of North Carolina 4-H Congress . . . the Candlelighting Ceremony at Dorton Arena is the culminating event of this week-long 4-H experience, a solemn look back at the year’s work, and quiet contemplation for the year ahead.

The Juanita Ogburn Hudson and Mack Hudson 4-H Courtyard and Gardens, named for a family whose loyalty to 4-H and its ideals is unwavering after nearly seven decades, will be the heart of the North Carolina 4-H Museum & History Center.  New generations of 4-H’ers will walk among the gardens and take renewed inspiration from the life of the remarkable people honored here.  Each day, the flags of 4-H, the state, and nation will be raised and lowered with reverence, a reminder of the duty each of us owes to our club, community, and country, a responsibility ever close to the hearts of Juanita and Mack Hudson.
