Extension 4-H Associate
Major Areas of Responsibility
Provide overall leadership to the 4-H Teen Leadership Development Program.
- Design, develop and implement a 4-H teen leadership program conceptual map (model).
- Provide conceptual leadership for Teen Activities and Events.
- Serve as a team member on the LRFA program area committees
- Collaborating with various faculty, project staff, volunteers, and teens to advance teen project design, development and evaluation;
Teens Reaching Youth through Innovative Teams (TRY-IT) project
- Facilitate completion of remaining on-line training modules for teen volunteers
- Facilitate statewide training retreats for teen volunteers and their adult coaches
- Lead a team of teens, adult volunteers, and staff in “futuring” process for TRY and related teen program efforts – including identifying new ways to deliver curriculum, track results.
- Recruit and train additional 4-H professionals and volunteers to train youth teams
- NC 4-H Ambassadors program
- Facilitate statewide training retreats for teens seeking leadership and public advocacy skills
- Facilitate completion of remaining topical lesson plans for Ambassador training
- Lead a team of teens, adult volunteers, and staff in “futuring” process for related teen program efforts – including identifying new ways to deliver curriculum, track results
- Recruit and train volunteers to assist with training, coaching, and development of program
- Re-work current levels – Bronze, Silver, Gold, Emerald - to meet the current needs of 4- H Teens.
NC 4-H Awards Program
- Provide faculty leadership and direction for the North Carolina 4-H Awards and Incentives Program Team.
- Provide leadership and direction for the following awards programs: Honor Club, Scholarships, Project Record, Cumulative Record, Group Awards, and Presentations
- Continue to institutionalize the Awards Program components. Provide training to all relevant groups on these new aspects of the competitive phases of 4-H.
- Manage the 4-H Awards & Incentives Committee at the regional and state level for the following programs: Project Records, Cumulative Records, Scholarships and Presentations.
- Continue to work with subject matter specialist to secure their submission on entries for the 4-H Award Guide, which will be posted on the 4-H Youth Development Home page.
