Anita-Alta
Nestled in the quiet rolling hills of the Pisgah National Forest lies Anita-Alta 4-H Outpost Camp, just a half hour drive northwest of Lenoir off NC Hwy 90 in the Mulberry Community. This mountain camp covers 375 acres with two streams, a pond, two large meadows and several trails.
Anita-Alta provides a true outpost experience for nature lovers, whether visiting for a day or camping overnight. The Outpost Camp is available year-round for 4-H groups, as well as other groups and organizations. Church groups, youth groups, family reunions or company picnics are all welcome to enjoy this best kept secret in Caldwell County.
Day users have may have use of trails, pond, streams, meadow, picnic area and pavilions. Archery, Challenge Course, fishing, tubing and canoeing are also available. Overnight and extended camping trips may use the platform tent unit, the cabin unit, or primitive camp with their personal equipment. Canoes and transport trailer may also be rented for off-site use on area rivers by 4-H groups and their affiliates.
